Structure Type 2000 2002 Increase

Single-Family Homes 5526 6738 1212

Apartment Buildings 236 259 23

Low-Rise Commercial 112 145 33

High-Rise Commercial 8 10 2

Parking Garages 30 42 12

Which type of structure had the greatest percentage of increase?

a. Single-family homes

Divide the increase by the OLD amount. So divide 1212 by 5526,
get 0.2193268187 round to 0.219, move the decimal 2 places right
put on a %. That's 21.9%

b. Apartment buildings

Divide the increase by the OLD amount. So divide 23 by 236,
get 0.0874576271 round to 0.087, move the decimal 2 places right
put on a %. That's 8.7%

c. Low-rise commercial structures

Divide the increase by the OLD amount. So divide 33 by 112,
get 0.2946428571 round to 0.295, move the decimal 2 places right
put on a %. That's 29.5%

You do the others. Pick out the one with the greatest percent.
