Two pups are 90 miles apart and moving directly towards each other. One pup is running at a speed of 20 mph and the other is walking at 10mph. Assuming that the pups start moving at the same time, how long does it take for the two pups to meet?
------
Moving in opposite directions --> the speeds are added.
20 + 10 = 30 mi/hr
-----
d = r*t
t = d/r = 90/30
t = 3 hours
================================
You must do a sketch describing the situation and show all work!
Nope!
