Let "t" be that time under the question, in hours.


Then the time to go back is 12-t hours.


Then you have this "distance" equation


    45*t = 63*(12-t)


saying the the distance "to there" is the same as the distance back.


From the equation,


    45t = 63*12 - 63t

    45t + 63t = 63*12


    t =  = 7.


ANSWER.  7 hours.
