Let "x" be the distance.


Then your "time" equation is


     -  = 2    hours.


It is really a "time" equation, since every ratio in the left side is the time of traveling !


To solve the equation, multiply both sides by 48*60. You will get


    60x - 48x = 2*48*60.


    12x = 2*48*60  ====>  x =  = 2*4*60 = 8*60 = 480.


ANSWER.  The distance is 480 kilometers.


CHECK.    -  = 10 - 8 = 2 hours.    ! Precisely correct !
