The phrase "30 degrees towards north-east" is ambiguous. It might be 30 degrees north of east, or 30 degrees east of north.
In either case, the directions "north", "east", and the path of the plane form a 30-60-90 right triangle. Since the path of the plane is 320km, the distances north and east from A to B are 160km and 160*sqrt(3)km; but we don't know which is which.
