A ship leaves port heading due west. After travelling at a speed of 20 km/h for 10hours, the ship makes a 90degree turn and heads south, travelling at the same speed. After travelling south for 7 1/2 hour, how far is the ship from the port..

20 * 10, or 200 km, WEST
20 * 7.5, or 150 km, SOUTH
The journey forms a right-triangle that is the PYTHAGOREAN TRIPLE: 3-4-5.
The 2 legs are 3 & 4 that're MULTIPLIED by 50, making them 50(3), or 150 km, and 50(4), or 200 km.
This makes the HYPOTENUSE 50(5), or 250 km, which is the distance between its start and end-points.
That's it!!
