Question 1128908: A boat's crew rowed 24 kilometers downstream, with the current, in 2 hours. The return trip upstream, against the current, covered the same distance, but took 3 hours. Find the crew's rowing rate in still water and the rate of the current.
Answer by Boreal(15235) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
speed downstream is 12 km/h
speed upstream is 8 km/h
speed is flat water + current
so s+c=12
and s-c=8
2s=20
s=10 km/h speed in flat water
c= 2 km/h current
