Question 1122216: An automobile leaves City A for City B 2 hours later than a truck. How many miles per hour must the automobile travel to reach City B at the same time as the truck if the truck travels at an average of 30 mph and makes the trip 10 hours?

30 miles per hour times 10 hours is 300 miles. So you need to know how fast the car has to go to make 300 miles in 8 hours. Divide 300 by 8.
