Without any calculations, it is clear that the car and the lorry will spend the same time from the start moment 
to the moment they meet each other.


Hence, the lorry will cover   of the distance, which the car will cover.


So, if x is the distance under the question,  then


x +  = 450

 = 450


x =  = 90*3 = 270.


Answer.  The car will cover  270 kilometers, before it meet the lorry.


Check.   270 +  = 270 + 180 = 450 kilometers.   ! Correct !
