Question 1107450: What are congruent angles. And who tutor's by the way? R they free to come to peoples houses or are they just regular people that answer questions? Are we only allowed to ask questions for math or can we ask questions about anything like any other school subjects? Sorry, this is my first time using this website. I would really appreciate it if you guys can answer the questions right away because sometimes I don't understand my homework and it is due in like 1 hour. I am gonna go to school in an hour so I need the answer to: this is the question: Mary jogs around a lake in 16 minutes on a path that measures 3.3 km. Which comes closest to her jogging speed in km/min. Options for answers: A= 5km/min B= 4.8km/min C=4km/min D=1/5km/min.
THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH. I REALLY APPRECIATE IT.
Answer by jim_thompson5910(35256) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Question: What are congruent angles?
Answer: Angles that have the same measure. For example, two angles that are both 30 degrees are congruent angles

Question: And who tutor's by the way?
Answer: Anyone who volunteers their time on this website. It can be a student your age, an actual tutor or teacher, or anyone who has free time and expertise
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Question: R they free to come to peoples houses or are they just regular people that answer questions?
Answer: No, its all online. If you want local in-person tutoring, you should set something up with your school or go through a tutoring center. The likelyhood of someone being local to you through this website is fairly slim

Question: Are we only allowed to ask questions for math or can we ask questions about anything like any other school subjects?
Answer: This website is for math only. You could argue its for algebra only (hence the name) but other topics such as geometry are allowed. Any topic is allowed as long as it's math based.

Question: Mary jogs around a lake in 16 minutes on a path that measures 3.3 km. Which comes closest to her jogging speed in km/min. Options for answers: A= 5km/min B= 4.8km/min C=4km/min D=1/5km/min
Answer: Choice D) 1/5 of a km per min
Recall that distance is equal to speed times time
In other words
distance = speed*time
so you multiply the speed and time to get the distance
We know the distance is 3.3 km and the time is 16 min, so we plug those values in and we have
distance = speed*time
3.3 = x*16
where x is the unknown speed in km per min
Divide both sides by 16 to isolate x
3.3 = x*16
3.3/16 = x*16/16
0.20625 = x
x = 0.20625
Notice how this is fairly close to 1/5 = 0.2
So 1/5 of a km per min is a good estimate for the speed, which is why choice D is the answer
