(8-x) hours at 50 km/h (I am editing the 500 km/h to 50 km/h)=400-50x km
The two add to 575 km.
100x+400-50x=575
50x=175 km
x=3.5 hours ANSWER, which is 350 km
8-x=4.5 hours, which is 225 km.
