Let n be Jane's speed. Then, Larry would be n+1. So:
5/n=6/n+1
6n=5n+5
1n=5
n=5
Jane runs 5 kph; Larry runs 6 kph.

The question asks for LARRY'S speed, so NO NEED TO make the variable anything other than Larry's speed

Let Larry's speed be S

Then Jane's is: S - 1

We then get the following TIME equation:
