So Dana traveled at 9mph and Rosa at 9+7 = 16

Then Rosa' speed is  (x +7) mph.


The equation is 

7x + 7*(x+7) = 175.

and it represents the distance between them after 7 hours.


Simplify and solve it for x:

7x + 7x = 175 - 49,

14x = 126  ====>  x =  = 9.


Answer.  Dana' speed is 9 mph.  Rosa' speed is 9+7 = 16 mph.
