Let Jen's garden be x m long then Leo's garden will be (x+3)m long.Since the shapes of two gardens are rectangulars with the same area we write:
solving this equation we find x=9.
Therefore the length of Jen's garden is 9m and the length of Leo's garden is
9+3=12m.
