Question 1074237: Two cyclists leave a city at the same time, one going east and the other going west. The west bound cyclist bikes at 3 mph faster than the east bound cyclist. After 4 hours they are 132 miles apart. How fast is each cyclist riding?

Let n be the speed of the east bound cyclist. The west bound one goes 3 mph faster, so his speed is n+3. So:
4n+4(n+3)=132
8n=120
n=15 mph as the speed of the east bound cyclist; 18 mph as the speed of the west bound one. ☺☺☺☺
