Susan is trying to get to her grandma's house 5 mile away.
To get there she runs at a pace of 6 miles per hour for 30 minutes.
She then walks at a pace of 4 miles per hour for the rest of the distance.
How many minutes does she walk?
:
she ran for 1/2 hr; find how far; dist = speed * time
* 6 = 3 mi
The total dist is 5 mi, therefore she walked 2 mi; write a time equation
time = dist/speed
t = = hr which is 30 min walking
