SPEED TIME DISTANCE EARLYSLOW 350 t+2 d LATEFAST 490 t d

Basic Rule RT=D;
solve for both d and t;
Concentrate on time quantities first, and time points later.

Let time taken by jet to get to meetup point, be T
Then time taken by airplane to get to meetup point = T + 2
We then get the following DISTANCE equation: 490T = 350(T + 2)
Solve this for T, the time the jet took to catch up with the airplane. You should get:
