Let x represnt hours, and M(x)=miles. Let r represent miles per hour speed. Then:
.75r=54 and 2.5r=180.
54/.75=180/2.5=72 mph
If x is hours then x(72)=M(x)
If Mike has driven 180 miles so far, then he has 300-180, or 120 more miles to go, which will take 120/72=1.67 more hours. ☺☺☺☺
