Question 1042976: Two cyclists start at the same point and travel in opposite directions. One cyclist travels
9

/kmh
slower than the other. If the two cyclists are
235km
apart after
5
hours, what is the rate of each cyclist?

Answer by jorel555(1290)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let the slower cyclist's rate be n. Then the faster cyclist is n+9. So:
5n+5(n+9)=235
10n=190
n=19
The slower cyclist rides 19 kmh, and the faster one at 28 kmh. ☺☺☺☺
