The first plane left newyork at 241 kph and after 30 minutes the other plane leaves at 261 kph both planes due opposite directions and after two hours second plane leaves we must find thier distance?
So the first plane travels 241 k in one hour and when 30 minutes later when the other plane leaves this plane must have travelled 120.5 k in 30 minutes (cause in 60 minutes(1h) it travels 241 so in 30 minutes 120.5) After 2 hours now the plane due west must travel 522(261 in 1h so in 2h 522) and the plane due north must travel 120.5+482=602.5 ( it has already travelled 120.5 before the other plane started and in 2 hours in must travel twice 241 which means 482 therefore 482+120.5=602.5)
Hence they are opposite directions thier distance must be 602.5+522= 1124.5
