Question 1035004: Solve. Round to the nearest tenth of necessary
Two flights left Karr Airport at the same time. One plane flew 250 mi/hr. The other plan flew 375 mi/hr. The faster plane went 750 mi farther than the slower plane and traveled 1 hr longer. How far did each plane travel?
Answer by jorel555(1290) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let h be the number of hours each plane traveled. Then:
375(h+1)=250h+750
375h+375=250h+750
125h=375
h=3
The first plane flew 375 mph for 4 hours, or 1500 miles. The second plane flew 3 hours at 250 mph, or 750 miles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
