Question 1018293: I need to find out how many miles "Dan" drove on Interstate 5. He drove a total of 27 miles. He drove X miles on Interstate 5 and Y miles on Interstate 405. HE drove twice as many miles on Interstate 5 as he did on Interstate 405. Here comes the tricky part I found a solution but can't figure out how to show my work for it.

he drove x miles on interstate 5 and y miles on 405 with x = 2y
so x + y = 3y = 27
so y= 9
and x = 18
