.
Leah travels 270 km. Deb travels 250 km in the same time. Leah drives 4 km/h faster. what are they each travelling at ?
---------------------------------------------------------
Let x be Leah' speed in .
Then Deb' speed is (x-4) .

The equation is

 = .

To solve it, multiply both sides by x*(x-4). You will get

250x = 270*(x-4),

250x = 270x - 1080,

20x = 1080,

x =  = 54 .

Answer. Leah' speed was 54 . Deb' speed was 50 .
