17 mi/hr = 17*(22/15) ft/sec =~ 25 ft/sec

Assuming uniform acceleration:
The average speed is 1/2 the terminal speed. v = 12.5 ft/sec
t = d/v = 63/12.5 =~ 5.04 seconds
a = v/t = 25/5.04
a = 4.96 ft/sec/sec
