Question 1002866: I drove 100 km from A to B in one hour and back form B to A in two hours. What's my average speed?
Answer by Theo(13342) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
the total distance you drove was 200 miles (100 going and 100 coming back).
the total time is took was 3 hours (one hour going and 2 hours coming back).
rate * time = speed becomes:
rate * 3 = 200
solve for rate to get rate = 200 / 3 = 66 and 2/3 km per hour
