Here is my word problem that I am having difficulty with -
At the beginning of the day a 100 lb. watermelon is 99% water. At the end of the day it is 98% water. How much does the watermelon weigh at the end of the day?
I don't know how to start this and I am not sure if it is some kind of trick problem. The only thing I can come up with is 100 x 1/99 + 100 x 1/98 = 1
but I don't think that is right. Help!
