Question 127058: The teacher noticed there were fewer than 100 students on the playground. When she counted them by twos, there was one student left over. In fact, when she counted them by threes, fours, fives or sixes there was always one student left over. How many students were on the playground.
Can you please help us with this equation?
We have come up with 97/2 =48.5
I am really not sure if this is the correct way to do this problem.

Question 127062: I need help on a word problem I think I have the right answer I just need confirmation. Thank you. The problem is as follows:
"There are 7 students each student has 7 cages. Each cage has 7 cats each cat has 7 kittens. How many legs are there?"
My work and answer as are follows.
student 1
cage 1
7 cats
49 kittens
224 ft per cage
1568 ft per kid + 2 ft
I have the answer as 10,990 legs

1. The sum of 6 and twice a number is equal to four times the number, what is the number? I got 2n-6=4n but do not know how to solve
