One number is eleven more than twice another. If their sum is decreased by ten, the result is thirteen. Find the numbers.
this is what i know
one number is x
one number is elven more x+11
twice another 2x
sum decreased by ten is thirteen x-10=13

Question 125649: A two digit number has its digits sum equal to 11.
If you reverse the digits of this number, the new two digit number is 27 more than the original two digit number.
I know that the original number is 47 and the new digits in reverse is 74 (which is 27 more than the original 47)
My question is a solution, including all algebraic steps to solve this problem.

Question 126331: two consecutive numbers have a sum of 71.what are the numbers?i know how to solve it but i was just wondering why when you add 1 to both sides it isn't a 1x isn't it because its not a like term?are you suppose to do that with problems like that
