Question 975534: solve 5y-y+1/3=y+1/4+y
Answer by Boreal(15235) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
5y-y+1/3=y+1/4+y
Collect terms
4y+(1/3)=2y+(1/4) ;;isolate y on one side and numbers on other.
2y=(-1/12) ;; now divide by 2.
y=(-1/24)
Check (-4/24)+(1/3)=(-2/24)+(1/4)
Both = (1/6)
