r+8 = 2(m+8)
r + m = 77

Rearrange::
r - 2m = 8
r + m = 77
----
Subtract and solve for "m":
3m = 69
m = 23 yrs (Mark's age now)

Solve for "r"::
r = 77-m
r = 77-23 = 54 yrs (Rex's age now)
