The smallest even integer=x; the larger=x+2
x+(x+2)=-34 Subtract 2 from each side.
2x=-36 Divide each side by 2.

x+2=-18+2=-16 The larger integer is -16
Sum is -34
-18+(-16)=-34
-34=-34
