PRI-USB=$170.70 eq2
PRI=$179.70+USB Solve eq2 for PRI
USB+USB+$179.70=$225.50 Substitute for PRI in eq1
2USB+$179.70-$179.70=$225.50-$179.70 Subtract $179.70 from both sides
2USB=$45.80
2USB/2=$45.80/2 Divide both sides by 2
USB=$22.90 ANSWER 1 cost of USB was $22.90
PRI=$179.70+USB=$179.70+$22.90=$202.60 ANSWER 2 printer cost=$202.60
CHECK:
The total cost of USB drive and printer was $225.50
cost of USB drive + cost of printer=$225.50
$22.90+$202.60=$225.50
