114
. The second number is
3
times the third. The third number is
9
less than the first . What are the numbers?
Answer by sunny1992(35) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
let
first number = X
so,
3rd number = X-9
2nd number = 3(X-9)=3x-27
therefore,
X+(X-9)+(3X-27)=114
5x-9-27=114
5x-36=114
5x=114+36
5x=150
X=150/5
X=30
1st number = 30
2nd number = 63
3rd number = 21
