Question 929313: there are 3 numbers that add up to 90, the second number is twice as much as the first number, and the third number is two more than the first number, what are the numbers
Answer by Edwin McCravy(20060)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
first number = n

the second number is twice as much as the first number
second number = 2n

the third number is two more than the first number
third number = n+2

there are 3 numbers that add up to 90

n + 2n + n+2 = 90
      4n + 2 = 90
          4n = 88
           n = 22

first number = n = 22
second number = 2n = 2(22) = 44
third number = n+2 = 22+2 = 24
