Question 926366: One number is 20% more than another number. Together the numbers add up to 88.What is the smaller number?
Answer by JulietG(1812)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A + B = 88
A = 1.2B
(1.2B) + B = 88
2.2B = 88
B = 40
If B is 40, then A is 88-40, or 48
48 is 20% more than 40.
