Question 919368: The difference of two integers is nine. 5 times the smaller is 7 more than 3 times the larger. Find the two numbers
Answer by ewatrrr(24785) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x - y = 9 and 5y = 3x + 7 0r 3x - 5y = -7
.......solving by elimination
-3(x-y) = 9
3x - 5y = -7
-2y = -34
y = 17 and x = 26
And...checking
5y = 3x + 7
85 = 78 + 7
