Answer by mananth(16946)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
let one number be x
other number = 2x+3
x(2x+3)=44
2x^2+3x=44
2x^2+3x-44=0
2x^2+11x-8x-44=0
x(2x+11)-4(2x+11)=0
(2x+11)(x-4)=0
x=4
other number = 2x+3 => 2*4+3=11
the numbers are 4 & 11
x=-5.5
other number =-11+3=-8
-5.5 & -8
