Answer by JulietG(1812) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
a = b+1 (consecutive)
a = 2b+9
b+1 = 2b+9
1 = b + 9
b = -8
If the smaller is -8, then the larger is -7
Twice the smaller is -16 +9 = -7
