Question 907070: the difference between two numbers is 104. The second number is 20% of the first number. What are the numbers?
Answer by JimboP1977(311)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x-104 = y (1)
x/5 = y OR x = 5y (2)
(1) times by 5 to give 5x-520 = 5y (3)
(3)-(2) gives 4x-520 = 0
Therefore x = 130
Therefore y must = 26
