Found 3 solutions by josgarithmetic, seshumallipeddi, MathTherapy:Answer by josgarithmetic(39630) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website! Not knowing how many digits in your number needing to be found, putting 1 could mean adding 10, or adding 100, or adding 1000, or ....., meaning adding something and not yet really knowing x.
. One requirement is x must be a natural number.
The only method I see is try either to graph and on the same coordinate system, or try different values for x, from NATURAL numbers beginning at x=1, and solve for n.
Try x=1: .

CHECK.
Putting 1 before the 5 gives 15. Is 15=3*5? YES.
FOUND the number n=5.
If it's a single-digit number, then it's 5
If it's a double-digit number, then it's 50
If it's a three-digit number, then it's 500
If it's a four-digit number, then it's 5,000, AND SO ON!!
