Question 862582: The sum of X and Z is 48. X is 12 more than Z but 6 less than Y. Find the values of X Y and Z
Answer by ben720(159) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
If X+Z=48, 48-X=Z
Let X = X
Let 48-X = Z
As X is 6 less than Y, Let Y = X+6
X is 12 more than Z
Substitute 48-X for Z
Add 48 and 12
Add X to both sides
Divide both sides by 2
48-X=Z
48-30=Z
18=Z
X+6=Y
30+6=Y
36=Y
The Numbers X, Y, and Z are 30, 36, and 18, respectively
