other number is x+18
x+(x+18) =68
2x+18=68
2x=68-18
2x=50
/2
x=25
25+18= 43
the numbers are 25 & 43

X+Y=68
X-Y=18 NOW ADD
--------------
2X=86
X=86/2
X=43 ANS.
43+Y=68
Y=68-43
Y=25 ANS.

43-25=18
