Question 843295: the sum of three consecutive numbers is -168. find the integers. please help, i am so lost!
Answer by LinnW(1048) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x = the first
x + 1 = the next number
x + 2 = the third number
(x)+(x+1)+(x+2) = -168
3x + 3 = -168
add -3 to each side
3x = -171
x = -57
The next two numbers are -56 and -55
Notice =(-57)+(-56)+(-55) = -168
