let a = the larger integer
let b = the smaller
Just write an equation for what it says:
:
twice the reciprocal of the larger positive even integer exceeds half of the smaller even integer by 1.
2* = b + 1
multiply both sides by 2
4* = b + 2
= b + 2
- 2 = b
find the integers.
The only positive even integers that would satisfy this: a=2, b=0
