Hello,
We could solve this as:
Let x be the price of burgers and y be the price of fries. Set up two equations.
2x+3y=6.50
6x+5y=15.50
Multiply the first by -3 to get:
-6x-9y=-19.50
6x+5y=15.50
Add these two equations to get:
-4y=-4
y=1 Plug this into the original equation to get:
x=1.75
There we go, burger cost $1.75 and fries are $1
Make sense?
