.30x=y
x = 250, y = 75
There are 250 students
30% of 250=75

With T being 30% of children, and since 90% represents 225, then we can use the following proportion: .9/.3 = 225/T

Note that this proportion is “saying”: If 90% represents the number 225, then what number represents 30%?



Solving , we get:

.9T = .3(225) ------ Cross-multiplying

.9T = 67.5

T, or number of children representing 30% of enrollees = , or , or
