Question 825998: The units digit of a 3 digit number is one more than twice the tens digit while the tens digit is twice that of the hundreds digit. If the hundreds digit and the unit digit are interchanged, the number formed is 21 more than 4 times the original number. Find the number.
I asked this last time. But it wasn't answered. Well I guess, I will try it again. Hoping somebody will notice this. I really need the answer. As in A.S.A.P. Can you solve this. Pleassee?? :(

Let the three digits be a,b,c
then
100a + 10b + c = the number
:
Write an equation for each statemen
:
The units digit of a 3 digit number is one more than twice the tens digit
c = 2b+1
:
while the tens digit is twice that of the hundreds digit.
b = 2a
a = .5b
:
If the hundreds digit and the unit digit are interchanged, the number formed is 21 more than 4 times the original number.
100c + 10b + a = 4(100a + 10b + c) + 21
100c + 10b + a = 400a + 40b + 4c + 21
100c - 4c = 400a - a + 40b - 10b +21
96c = 399a + 30b + 21
replace a and c
96(2b+1) = 399(.5b) + 30b + 21
192b + 96 = 199.5b + 30b + 21
96 - 21 = 229.5b - 192b
75 = 37.5b
b = 75/37.5
b = 2
then
a = 1
and
c = 2(2)+1
c = 5
:
125 is the original number, YOu can check this in the last statement
