Hi,

The larger of two numbers is 2 less than twice the smaller   

Their sum is 60.  

   (2x-2) + x = 60

     3x = 62

      x =  62/3  = 20 ²⁄₃  

Numbers are:  20 ²⁄₃  and 39 ¹⁄₃
