Two consecutive numbers have a sum of -11
x+x+1=-11
2x+1=-11
2x=-12
x=-6
x+1=-5
The second number is four more than twice the first number
x+1=2x+4
x=2x+3
0=x+3
x=-3
The first equation says the first number is -6
The second equations say the first number is -3
They are incompatible
