Hi,
Let x and (x + 5) represent the numbers
x^2 - (x+5)^2 = 165
x^2 - x^2 -10x - 25 = 165
-10x - 25 = 165
10x = -190
x = -19 Numbers -19, -14
CHECKING our Answer***
= 165
